Back in 1946, Jon L. Stopay started making a scrumptious confection consisting of a melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter center covered in rich milk chocolate. News of these delectable candies spread and he soon had buyers from all over the Wyoming Valley in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He first opened a small store in Edwardsville and later realized his dream by opening a larger store with his wife, Eva, in 1972. With Peanut Butter Chiffon as their signature candy, over the years they added many other delicious selections to please all candy lovers.
Jon L. Stopay Candies is still run by our family. After more than 50 years, our candy receives the same care and attention to quality that Papa Jon used in 1946. We still use only the finest quality of ingredients; fresh fruits and nutmeats enrobed in the highest grades of rich chocolate name only a small portion of the large selection that we use.
Till this day, our candy is cooked daily in small batches and then hand dipped and hand packed so that every piece looks as good as it tastes, just like Papa Jon did way back when. Some people may think our process is a lot of trouble, but it's the best way we know to guarantee you the same old-fashioned goodness that's made our candies a favorite treat since 1946.
