ESPN 100.9-FM (WLUN)

ESPN 100.9-FM is the radio flagship home of the Great Lakes Loons. The station was purchased by the Loons organization on March 25, 2008 from the Last Bastion Trust. The station was previously owned by Citadel Broadcasting, operating as a simulcast of classic rock station WILZ-FM.

The Michigan Baseball Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that owns Dow Diamond, helped finance the purchase. The Foundation also funded the construction of the radio studio in the Dow Diamond press box, overlooking the baseball field, which was completed in January 2009. These steps, made by the Michigan Baseball Foundation, are consistent with the Foundation's stated mission of promoting regional economic development.

ESPN 100.9-FM carries ESPN Radio's flagship weekday programs Mike & Mike (6am-10am), featuring former NFL lineman Mike Golic and SportsCenter anchor Mike Greenberg; The Herd (10am-1pm), with Colin Cowherd; and SVP & Russillo (1pm-3pm), featuring SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo.

ESPN 100.9-FM carries The HUGE Show, hosted by Michigan's premiere sports talk show host Bill Simonson, from 3pm-6pm. Select weeknights, that is followed by BTN Live, a nightly show aired on the Big Ten Network that looks at all 14 teams in the B1G Conference.

Like the Loons, ESPN 100.9-FM operates as a non-profit organization. The radio station will provide an additional revenue stream for the Michigan Baseball Foundation, which along with the Loons has helped generate over $350,000 in charitable donations during the Loons first season. The station's purchase also corresponds with the Foundation's mission of promoting local economic development.

ESPN 100.9-FM provides terrific marketing opportunities for businesses looking to reach the station's growing sports talk audience. Companies interested in marketing and sponsorship opportunities with ESPN 100.9-FM should contact Jay Arons at 989-837-6156 or
