Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco

We are a unique organization. As the largest of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts we're a significant part of the central bank of the United States, although we're not a government institution. We are an independent, self-funded, non-profit organization with a very important mission: to promote low inflation, full employment, and financial stability.

No other organization does what we do or has greater impact on global economies.

Among other responsibilities, we help establish monetary policy for the United States and we supervise banking institutions to ensure their stability and compliance with regulations.

Our headquarters are in San Francisco, California, with Branch offices in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City and Phoenix.
