Formula Masters China Series is China and Asia’s leading international junior single-seater championship. It has been specifically designed to provide a platform for the next generation of motorsport stars to develop an essential motorsport foundation which will serve them throughout their racing careers.
Established in 2013 by Volkswagen Group China’s Sports Car Project China and jointly organized by TopSpeed Limited, the series provides myriad opportunities for fledging talent to hone their skills by creating a level playing field, ensuring talent, rather than financial advantage, dictates success.
Each race weekend is carefully designed to maximize the drivers’ time in the car, optimizing opportunities to learn and develop. Pre-event testing is followed by a free practice session and two qualifying sessions on the Friday. Races 1 and 2 are held on Saturday, with a third race on Sunday.
The series holds races on the most prestigious circuits in China and across Asia, challenging the drivers to adapt quickly to the various track layouts and testing their racing mettle to the max each and every weekend.
A major advantage of the FMCS concept is that it serves as an optimum stepping stone to more senior motorsport series within the Volkswagen Group China motorsport family, including: the Audi R8 LMS Cup, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Series, the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and the Scirocco R Cup China. From its very first season, many FMCS drivers have stepped up to more advanced series, applying the skills and knowledge learned in FMCS to achieve success there.
Formula Masters China Series offers cost-effective services of the highest standards, all of which are centrally managed, including:
